Liverpool join the race for 17-year-old prodigy
According to Sky Sports Germany, Liverpool have put young midfielder Andrija Maksimovic of Red Star Belgrade on the list of transfer targets.

The player born in 2007 is emerging as one of the brightest young talents in Serbian football, with a remarkable debut in the Champions League and Nations League for the national team.
Despite not yet turning 18, Maksimovic has attracted the attention of many big clubs in Europe. Juventus, Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund have all been tracking the midfielder for a long time, with Dortmund being considered the most promising candidate due to their reputation for developing young players. However, with Liverpool joining the race for Maksimovic's signature, it has become even more fierce.
Liverpool's current squad, with midfielders such as Ryan Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister, is still performing impressively, helping the club lead the Premier League table. However, manager Arne Slot is still keen to strengthen the squad, ensuring squad depth for important competitions this season.
According to Sky Sports Germany, big clubs may wait until next summer's transfer window to make more drastic moves in recruiting Maksimovic. Currently, this player has a contract with Red Star Belgrade until June 2027, and the Serbian team is valuing Maksimovic at around 15 million euros.
