"The Eagles" (Crystal Palace's nickname) soared at Anfield in a match where they scored both the opening and closing goals. Yannick Bolasie opened the scoring for the visitors in the 21st minute with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area as the Liverpool players lacked intensity.
Liverpool equalized just minutes before the end of the first half thanks to Coutinho. However, Scott Dann's late header secured three points for the London side.
This victory helped Crystal Palace end their run of four consecutive defeats and draws. Crystal Palace now have 19 points and are in eighth place. Meanwhile, Liverpool have dropped to tenth place with 17 points after matchday 12 of the Premier League.
Crystal Palace has become a haunting specter for Liverpool in recent seasons. In the 2013-2014 season, while Liverpool were on their way to winning their first Premier League title, Crystal Palace appeared to thwart them with a spectacular comeback to draw 3-3 after being 0-3 down. Last season, "The Eagles" shattered legend Steven Gerrard's farewell party at Anfield by defeating Liverpool 3-1.
This year, Crystal Palace continued their frustrating run, becoming the first team to beat Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool fans were living in a dream world under the German manager, but were brought back down to earth after the defeat at Anfield.

Following their impressive 3-1 victory at Stamford Bridge last weekend, Klopp dismissed the idea that Liverpool are ready to compete for the title. Looking at their performance against Crystal Palace, it's easy to understand why Klopp is more concerned with the team's style of play than the title race.
Entering the match on the evening of November 8th, Liverpool had just enjoyed three consecutive victories in all competitions. However, the long journey to Kazan (Russia) for the Europa League match three days prior had taken a toll on the players' physical condition. Liverpool started slowly while Crystal Palace dominated possession with 63.3% in the first 20 minutes. Bolaise's goal was a result of Crystal Palace's proactive approach at Anfield.
Coutinho scored the equalizer for Liverpool, just like he did against Chelsea last week. However, unlike the match at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool didn't press hard and put pressure on the visitors despite playing at home. Liverpool's hesitant play gave Crystal Palace time to regroup and look for a late goal.
Crystal Palace were unlucky to draw with Man Utd in the previous round, but Alan Pardew's side showed sharpness in front of Liverpool's goal. Both of their goals came from situations where the opposing defense was playing with many players but couldn't prevent Bolaise and Scott Dann from scoring.
Manager Jurgen Klopp needs to continue improving Liverpool's performance in the coming period. After the break for international players, Liverpool will have to play away against Man City as soon as the Premier League resumes.
