(Baonghean.vn) - The Lam River is rising to record levels, causing anxiety among the residents of Hoa Lam fishing village (now Hoa Thuan hamlet), Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city.

In Thuan Hoa hamlet, Hung Hoa commune, outside the Hung Hoa dike, the water level reached 1 meter, with many areas experiencing nearly 2 meters, peaking during high tide. This is home to 64 households engaged in fishing, formerly known as Hoa Lam fishing village. Ms. Nguyen Thi Xan said that her family and other households in Thuan Hoa hamlet have lived here since 1973, and her life has been closely intertwined with the surrounding villages. This year, the water level rose to a record high, flooding people's houses by a meter. The elderly and children were evacuated, while the healthy remained to guard their homes.
