After a long period of preparation, the music video "Tuong Tu Nang Vi Giam" (Longing for the Vi Giam Girl) has been released. Composed and performed by Lo The Anh, a singer from the Traditional Arts Center of Nghe An province, the song, based on the melodies of the Vi Giam folk songs, promises to have a unique and rich life in the hearts of the public who love modern music and folk songs from Nghe An.

"Longing for the Folk Song Girl" combines the folk singing style of the traditional Vietnamese opera (ví giặm) with rap. The song tells the story of a young scholar, diligently pursuing his studies and harboring great ambitions. By chance, on his way home after achieving success, he encounters the gaze and song of a folk song girl on the tranquil, clear Lam River. He is captivated by her poignant melody and enchanting eyes. From then on, he vows to travel the world with her, building a happy life together.
The music video "Similar to the Ví Giặm Girl" is created in a traditional style, with the setting on the Lam River featuring a wooden boat, creating a beautiful, old-fashioned scene like a traditional ink painting. With a modern music style, Lô Thế Anh skillfully combines the Ví Giặm folk song with the traditional Ví Giặm melody, sung by Meritorious Artist Minh Thành, creating a harmonious blend of modern music and Nghệ Tĩnh folk music.
The music video also depicts the unique cultural characteristics of Nghe An province, a land of hard work and perseverance, with renowned talents from centuries past; the folk-singing region, as portrayed in the music video, is also a homeland with many sacred cultural legacies that have been preserved, promoted, and maintained to this day.
Lô Thế Anh said: "Through this music video, I want to bring to audiences near and far the cultural aspects of Nghe An province and introduce the folk singing style of Ví Giặm to young people in the most accessible way. To release this music video, my team and I invested about 8 months. First, we had to book schedules with the music director and the cinematographer, then we finalized the concept and carefully implemented each frame and setting in the most detailed way possible, ensuring that we captured the essence of 'Tương tư nàng ví giặm' (Longing for the Ví Giặm Girl)."

Born and raised in the mountainous region of Yen Hoa (Tuong Duong), despite the remote and impoverished countryside lacking entertainment options like audiovisual facilities or large and small stages, The Anh still "found" his own captivating musical style.
Immediately after graduating from high school, even though no one in his family was involved in the arts, The Anh quickly received the support and encouragement of his parents and siblings when he chose music as his career path. Therefore, The Anh applied to the Provincial College of Culture and Arts, majoring in Vocal Performance, to continue pursuing his dream of becoming a singer.
After graduating from the Provincial College of Culture and Arts, The Anh was accepted into the Provincial Folk Song and Dance Troupe (now the Provincial Traditional Arts Center) and quickly established himself thanks to his high, bright, and strong voice. He was often assigned songs with a distinct mountain and forest style, or songs written to modern music.
Driven by a desire to express his feelings through music, The Anh boldly ventured into songwriting. To date, he has composed dozens of songs that have been warmly received by audiences. His songs, written in response to the anti-epidemic movement and featuring EDM music with added rap elements, have been particularly popular with listeners.
Recently, The Anh's song "Traffic Bell" won second prize in the "Nghe An Province Traffic Safety Songwriting Contest" organized by the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Vietnam Musicians Association.
In addition, The Anh has tried his hand at many songs about romantic love, his homeland, and the people of Nghe An province, receiving much positive feedback from the audience.
Among them, the song "Yen Hoa, My Hometown" that he wrote as a tribute to his beloved hometown deserves special mention. "The song wasn't written in a modern style, nor did it use contemporary arrangements, but it's a heartfelt song, so I received a lot of love from the public, especially the people of my hometown. After a short time, this song has had nearly 200,000 listens on YouTube," Lô Thế Anh shared.
The Anh also said that, as a native of Nghe An province working in a professional art environment, his greatest concern is how to help the folk songs of Nghe Tinh reach further, how to make them warmly received by young audiences in the freshest way possible. Then, one day, while he was leisurely reciting a folk song about anger and love, an idea struck him: "I will write about the folk song of Nghe Tinh."
And Lô Thế Anh's "ví giặm girl" is a young woman singing ví giặm, but it is also the genuine, simple, poignant, and passionate ví giặm song that is always cherished in the hearts of every person from Nghệ An.
