(Baonghean.vn) – While not officially recognized, there is a flower affectionately called the "sun-welcoming flower." In the hot weather, while many plants wither, this flower seems to exert all its strength to bloom in shades of pink and white everywhere. In July, Vinh City experiences plenty of sunshine, but people can find solace in the beauty of this simple flower called the bougainvillea.

Originating from the distant Central and South America, bougainvillea has become popular in areas with hot and humid climates such as Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Australia, the Mediterranean region, South Africa, and the southern United States. In Vietnam, bougainvillea is grown sporadically throughout the country. Particularly in Central Vietnam, this flower is extremely resilient and blooms even in hot weather. | Familiar to every street and rooftop, bougainvillea flowers have become a charming feature, adding beauty and softening the harshness of the weather. |

| The large flowers are formed by brightly colored bracts. These brightly colored bracts, which can be white, yellow to red, are arranged in groups of three or six on a short cluster, enclosing the small flower inside. |

With its beautiful, bright-colored flowers and prolific blooming, bougainvillea is often incorporated into urban landscaping projects. Unlike the bustling, crowded seasons of rapeseed, peach blossoms, or lotus flowers that draw crowds for photos, bougainvillea evokes a sense of tranquility and serenity, free from the hustle and bustle. Perhaps this is the message bougainvillea conveys to us in this hectic life whenever it blooms. |

| Bougainvillea, peaceful and humble yet vibrant, often brightens up any place it appears. According to Mr. Nguyen Tat Dien, Chairman of the Nghe An Ornamental Plants Association, bougainvillea is easy to grow and has high decorative value, so the association pays close attention to developing it for landscaping purposes. According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Giap, Director of the Vinh City Ornamental Plants and Culture Center, bougainvillea accounts for about 15% of the income from ornamental plants and flowers produced by the Center's members. |
