New cars to reach Vietnamese people in early 2017
Having 'entered' the Vietnamese market, many new car models with changes and improvements that Vietnamese people are waiting for will begin distribution on the market from January 2017.

New Toyota Fortuner
After many missed appointments with consumers, the new generation of Toyota's most popular SUV in Vietnam will officially announce its selling price on January 5. With a comprehensive renovation of exterior and interior design, along with the addition of new features and technology, Toyota Fortuner has received a lot of attention from Vietnamese consumers when it was unexpectedly displayed at the Vietnam Auto Show 2016.

According to initial information from Toyota Vietnam, the new generation of Toyota Fortuner will be distributed to consumers as a completely imported vehicle. Therefore, the selling price of this SUV model is expected to be higher than the previous generation. Details about the versions of this model have not yet been announced by the Japanese car brand. With advantages in terms of brand, popularity in Vietnam and breakthrough changes in design, technology... promises to help Toyota Fortuner create appeal to customers.
New Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
Having become a direct competitor with Toyota Fortuner in Vietnam, so in the context of Toyota renewing Fortuner, Mitsubishi certainly cannot be indifferent to its "favorite child" Pajero Sport.

Appearing at the same time as Toyota Fortuner at the 2016 Vietnam Auto Show, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport was one step ahead of its competitor when announcing its selling price in 2016. Accordingly, this SUV model is distributed in Vietnam with two versions, including 4x2 AT priced at 1.4 billion VND and 4x4 AT version priced at 1.55 billion VND. Both versions share the same 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine, 220 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 285 Nm at 4,000 rpm, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Mitsubishi has started taking orders for Pajero Sport since December 2016, the first batch of cars will be delivered to customers in February 2017. Similar to its rival Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is also imported completely from Thailand.
New Honda Civic
Not only famous in Vietnam but also since its appearance on the world automobile market last year. Vietnamese consumers seem to have had full information about the new generation of Honda Civic in Vietnam, when this model was simultaneously displayed at Honda auto dealerships nationwide. However, the most interesting point is that the selling price of this sedan model is still kept secret by the Japanese car brand.

Faced with competition from a series of rivals in the C-class sedan segment, along with breakthrough changes on the Civic, Honda seems to be "weighing, measuring, and calculating" to determine the most suitable selling price for this model.
One of the notable points on the new Honda Civic is the 1.5 liter turbo engine but has a capacity of up to 170 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, combined with a CVT transmission. According to Honda, with the same power as the 2.4 liter engine that was equipped on the CR-V sibling model, the new Honda Civic only consumes an average of about 5.8 liters/100 km. This model will be imported completely from Thailand to be sold in Vietnam starting from January 2017.
New Chevrolet Trax
Equipped with a series of technology features, imported completely from Korea and priced at 769 million VND by GM Vietnam... Chevrolet Trax is expected to bring a new breeze to the urban small SUV segment which is currently dominated by Ford EcoSport.

As announced by the American car company in Vietnam, since introducing the Chevrolet Trax in October last year. This model only has a single version of the 1.4-liter Ecotec 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with a capacity of 140 horsepower at 4,900 - 6,000 rpm, maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1,850 - 4,900 rpm, combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Compared to its compatriot Ford EcoSport, Chevrolet Trax is superior in terms of features, however the selling price will be a big barrier for Chevrolet Trax to gain an advantage when it goes on sale in January 2017.
