A message of gratitude from the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
On the afternoon of July 26, Mr. Nguyen Trong Truong, representing the family of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, read the family's thank-you message at the funeral ceremony.
- On behalf of my mother, my sister, and my family, I respectfully address the esteemed leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front,
- Distinguished leaders of central and local agencies and organizations, and esteemed delegates and international friends,
- Dear ladies and gentlemen, uncles and aunts, brothers and sisters, close friends, and fellow countrymen and women at home and abroad,
Our father, after a period of illness, despite the dedicated care and treatment from the Party, the State, leading professors, doctors, and medical professionals, and his family, passed away at 1:38 PM on July 19, 2024 (corresponding to June 14, Year of the Dragon) at the Central Military Hospital 108 in Hanoi, at the age of 80, due to his advanced age and severe illness.
Our father's passing has brought profound grief to our family, especially our mother. From the time he fell ill until his final moments and throughout the funeral arrangements, our family received immense encouragement, sincere support, and dedicated assistance from the Party, the State, central and local agencies and units, our elders, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters, the people of the whole country, our compatriots abroad, and international friends. Our mother and the entire family would like to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude.
At this moment, once again, I would like to express my gratitude to the leaders, former leaders of the Party and State; leaders of other countries, international organizations, diplomatic agencies, central and local agencies and organizations, distinguished delegates, grandparents, uncles, aunts, brothers and sisters, our compatriots and international friends who came to pay their respects and bid farewell to our father as he was laid to rest.
The family sincerely thanks the central and local authorities, the Central Military Hospital 108, and the National Funeral Home for their meticulous preparations during the funeral days; and the press agencies for their timely reporting on the funeral.
During the funeral arrangements, mistakes and inconveniences for relatives and family members are inevitable, and we ask for your understanding.
