Emotional farewell in the condolence book for President Tran Dai Quang

Party and State leaders and international friends left touching farewell messages when visiting President Tran Dai Quang.
Funeral of President Tran Dai Quang:The coffin of President Tran Dai Quang lies in state at the National Funeral Home at 5 Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hanoi. The funeral begins at 7am on September 26.

On the morning of September 26, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, as Head of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, paid his respects to President Tran Dai Quang at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi). President Tran Dai Quang, born in 1956, passed away at 10:05 a.m. on September 21, 2018 at the 108 Central Military Hospital.


After offering incense, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc took time to share his thoughts with the late President's family. "His passing is a great loss to the Party, State and People, leaving behind boundless grief that cannot be compensated for by his family, colleagues, friends and relatives," the Prime Minister wrote in the condolence book.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, on behalf of the National Assembly delegation, offered incense to pay tribute. According to the Central Committee for the Protection and Care of Officials' Health, President Tran Dai Quang did not survive due to a serious illness. Despite the dedicated treatment of professors and doctors at home and abroad and the great attention and support of Party and State leaders, he did not survive.

Acting President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh could not hide her emotion as she led the delegation to pay respects to President Tran Dai Quang.

Previously, she wrote an article sharing her condolences and emphasizing that the President "left very special impressions on international friends and domestic agencies, units and individuals".


The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book from September 24 to 25 (local time). Individuals, organizations, the Vietnamese community in New York (USA), representatives of diplomatic missions to the United Nations, and local authorities can come to pay their respects and sign the condolence book.

On the morning of September 24, the United Nations flew its flag at half-mast in memory of the late President Tran Dai Quang.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 21, the entire United Nations General Assembly observed a minute of silence, sharing the pain and loss of the Vietnamese people.

In Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of September 26, the funeral of late President Tran Dai Quang took place at Thong Nhat Hall.

Delegation of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City... led by Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan, paid their respects.
