Entering the quarterfinals of Asiad 2018, Vietnam Olympic team received more than 1 billion in prize money

After defeating Bahrain Olympic team with a score of 1-0, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the Vietnam Olympic team a total bonus of up to 1.2 billion VND.

Of which, VFF awarded 500 million, VOV awarded 500 million, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded 200 million VND. Previously, after the 1-0 victory over Japan in the final match of the group stage, the Vietnamese Olympic team was also awarded a bonus of more than 200 million VND by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This is a worthy reward for the historic achievement of reaching the quarter-finals of the Asian Games men's football of the Vietnam Olympic team. Previously, the best achievement of the Vietnam Olympic team was only passing the group stage and reaching the round of 16 at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games.

In the match against Bahrain Olympic, Vietnam Olympic faced many difficulties due to the tough and disciplined playing style of the opponent. And despite the hard work, Coach Park Hang Seo's team still won 1-0 with the only goal in the 87th minute by substitute striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.

With this victory, Vietnam Olympic will meet Syria Olympic in the quarter-finals of Asiad 2018. The match will take place at 7:30 p.m. on August 27.
