Entering the quarterfinals of Asiad 2018, Vietnam Olympic team received more than 1 billion in prize money

After defeating Bahrain Olympic team with a score of 1-0, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the team a total of 1.2 billion VND.

Of which, VFF awarded 500 million, VOV awarded 500 million, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded 200 million VND. Previously, after the 1-0 victory over Japan in the final match of the group stage, the Vietnamese Olympic team was also awarded an immediate bonus of more than 200 million VND by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

This is a worthy reward for the historic achievement of reaching the quarter-finals of the ASIAD men's football event of the Vietnam Olympic team. Previously, the best achievement of the Vietnam Olympic team was only passing the group stage and reaching the round of 16 at the 2010 and 2014 ASIAD.

In the match against Bahrain Olympic, Vietnam Olympic faced many difficulties due to the opponent's tough and disciplined playing style. And despite the hard work, Coach Park Hang Seo's team still won 1-0 with the only goal in the 87th minute by substitute striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.

With this victory, the Vietnamese Olympic team will meet the Syrian Olympic team in the quarter-finals of the 2018 Asian Games. The match will take place at 7:30 p.m. on August 27.
