Lotus has just unveiled its latest model, the Lotus Exige Race 380, which is expected to launch in 2017. This is a lighter, faster, and more aggressive version of the Lotus Exige Sport 380.

True to its name, the Lotus Exige Race boasts a lightweight design, enhanced aerodynamics, and is equipped with many standard racing technologies. The car has a dry weight of less than 1 ton, just 998 kg compared to 1066 kg for other 380 models.

The Lotus Exige Race 380's weight was significantly reduced by eliminating the headlights and airbags found on the standard model, along with polycarbonate doors and a carbon fiber cockpit.
