Nghe An issues urgent dispatch to respond to flash floods, landslides

On the afternoon of July 21, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense issued urgent notice No. 115, informing about the storm situation and directing measures to respond to flash floods, landslides in the midlands and mountainous areas; and flooding in low-lying areas.

Ky Son teachers cross forests and wade streams to get to school after flash flood

Flash floods on the evening of September 30 caused severe flooding at Chieu Luu 2 Kindergarten in Ky Son district, many functional rooms and students' school supplies were submerged and swept away. The fences of both the Primary School and Kindergarten collapsed.

After heavy rain on the night of September 30, the stream water rose and flowed rapidly, flooding a house, threatening more than 20 households in Pung village, Luu Kien commune (Tuong Duong). The 4th force on site spent the night evacuating people and cleaning up the landslide until noon on October 1.
