The police determined that Dao Van Toan contacted two victims who wanted to sell their resort membership cards, providing false information that he could sell them to others at a higher price to gain the victims' trust and embezzle 2.4 billion VND.

On November 12th, the Hanoi City Police announced that they are investigating a case of "fraudulent appropriation of property".

During the investigation, the police determined that Dao Van Toan (born in 1998, residing in Ha Dong district, Hanoi) worked in the tourism sector.

Toan had information about customers who bought vacation vouchers, as well as knowing that some individuals wanted to sell these vouchers, so he came up with the idea.fraud and misappropriation of property.

The police determined that from January to April 2024, Dao Van Toan contacted two victims who wanted to sell their vacation vouchers. Toan provided false information, claiming he could sell them to others at a higher price.

He then demanded that the victims transfer fictitious fees to him, showing them fake documents to gain their trust and ultimately defrauding them of a total of over 2.4 billion VND.

To assist in the investigation and conclusion of the case, the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency requests that any individual whose property has been misappropriated by Dao Van Toan submit a complaint to the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency for resolution.
