After Mai rescues Thao My's younger brother, she asks Thao My for help opening Lao Cong's safe. However, the files found inside are not the most important documents. Upon receiving the report, Commander Do Viet concludes that Lao Cong is a suspicious person and must have hidden the important documents elsewhere.

Truc's failed poisoning attempt and Cuong's vigilance.

Immediately after her conversation with Commander Do Viet, Mai proactively called to remind Cuong Den to be cautious during this sensitive time. Although seemingly pleased by Mai's concern, Cuong Den immediately noticed something unusual outside his office door when a dark figure darted past.

Cương, armed with a gun, searched the office floor but found no suspicious individuals. In reality, this was a diversion tactic by Trúc to infiltrate the office and place an odorless, tasteless poison in Cương's tea. This poison has the characteristic of causing death with symptoms similar to a stroke.

However, Truc underestimated the other party's vigilance. After checking the camera system and realizing that Deputy Director Truc had not left the company, Cuong became suspicious. Returning to his office, remembering Mai's warning, Cuong carefully examined the teacup on his desk and took it for testing, thereby confirming the poisoning plot.

Lan admitted to plotting to murder Mai to help Cuong Den.

Besides the events involving Truc, the dialogue between Lan and Cuong also reveals many important details. Lan proactively brings up memories from her time at the orphanage to gain Cuong's trust. In response, Cuong asks questions about her past to verify if Lan is truly the same Le from years ago.

When Cương mentioned Lan's attempt to murder Mai, Lan didn't hesitate to show her jealousy. She believed that Mai and Sương were obstacles preventing Cương and Trường from being decisive, and therefore eliminating them would allow them to focus entirely on their work.

Despite Lan's affirmation of her feelings, Cuong remained skeptical. In a subsequent conversation with Huan, even though Huan defended Lan, Cuong still trusted his intuition that the girl was untrustworthy.

Commander Do Viet opens a new line of investigation into Lan's background.

In another development, after escaping Lan's attempted assassination, Mai reported the situation to Commander Do Viet. To verify Lan's true identity, Do Viet sent Tai to investigate at the orphanage instead of going to her hometown.

This decision is based on information that Lan had previously expressed resentment towards a manager at the orphanage – someone who had driven her to desperation in the past. Verification of former management personnel at the orphanage is expected to shed light on Lan's true nature.
