Man seduces and sells two female students to China.
The victims of this child trafficking ring were two ninth-grade female students from a high school in Mu Cang Chai district (Yen Bai province). Taking advantage of the trust and naivety of these girls from the highlands, the main perpetrator used fake names and addresses to deceive them into relationships and sell them abroad.
A child trafficking ring has been successfully investigated and dismantled by the Mu Cang Chai District Police in coordination with the Criminal Police Department of Yen Bai Province. As of August 1st, the two units are still working to rescue the remaining victim of the case...

| Two suspects in the case. |
In an emotional state, the victim, Ho Thi M, recounted: Ho Thi M and Ho Thi T were close friends. In early 2017, Ho Thi T had a romantic relationship with a young man named Di.
M met this person at a friend's guesthouse in Mu Cang Chai district, but did not know his address. One day in mid-March 2017, T invited M to go out with Di and his friend. M does not remember the exact date of the crime, only that it was around 7 PM one day in March, and M agreed to go along.
M got into Dỉ's car, while T rode on a motorbike driven by a friend of Dỉ's, heading from Mù Cang Chải towards Lai Châu. When they reached Khao Mang commune, Mù Cang Chải district, Dỉ told M that they were going to Sơn La for a trip. The motorbike continued to Hồ Bốn commune, where he asked M to give him her mobile phone...
Later, M learned that he was afraid his family would call him, or vice versa, that M would contact his relatives to inform them of being taken to China. But in reality, at that time, the victim M still did not know that he was being tricked and sold abroad.
It was only when they met the stranger, who waited for them in a wooded hill area, that M and T realized they had been tricked and sold into China. In that situation, the victims were forced to comply. Afterwards, M and T were taken by the stranger deep into inland China.
After the car had traveled a short distance, the man said that he had bought M and T for 18,000 yuan and would sell them as wives to a Chinese man... M doesn't remember which provinces they passed through; she only knows that they spent four days and five nights on the bus. Afterward, they were separated. M was sold to a Chinese man to be his wife. After the buyer locked her in a kitchen, M took advantage of a lapse in security during her confinement and escaped into the forest.
The girl crossed mountain peaks, seeking out deserted areas until she was exhausted from hunger, at which point a Chinese family helped her and took her to the police station to report the incident. After being returned to her country, on June 12th, M went to the Mu Cang Chai District Police Station to file a report.
Recognizing the seriousness of the case, the Mu Cang Chai District Police and the Criminal Police Department of Yen Bai Province launched an investigation. According to M's testimony, she had previously had a meal with a man named Di at a friend's rented room.
Based on this information, the Mu Cang Chai District Police met with the young man and identified him as Thao A Vinh (19 years old, residing in Hua Khat, Nam Khat commune, Mu Cang Chai district). Vinh works as a bus assistant, frequently traveling from place to place...
As for Vinh, he was unaware that the victim, M, had returned. Furthermore, he was confident that he had used a false name and address to commit the crime, so he didn't take any precautions. Therefore, Vinh was quite surprised when he was arrested by the Mu Cang Chai District Police.
During the investigation, Vinh confessed: Through social connections, he met the victim T. With the intention of luring women into relationships and selling them abroad, Vinh used the alias "Di" to get acquainted with T.
After a period of developing a romantic relationship and realizing the victim had taken the bait, the suspect contacted a man named Thong, whose specific address he didn't know; he had met him while looking for work. The two conspired to trick and sell two female students abroad...
Thông then contacted a man named Cứ in China. After agreeing on a plan with Cứ, Thông contacted and agreed with Vinh on transporting the victim to China...
Vinh gave Thông 12 million dong of the money he obtained. Based on Vinh's testimony, that same night, a task force arrived at Cang Dong village, Lao Chai commune, Mu Cang Chai district, where Thông was suspected of living. There, the task force from the Criminal Police Team secretly photographed the suspect.
Afterward, the reconnaissance team had to walk for nearly two hours to find a place with 3G signal to send information outside. When the suspect Vinh and the victim M identified Thong, the task force proceeded to arrest him. The suspect was identified as Lo A Thong (26 years old, residing at the above address).
