What are the regulations regarding land expropriation for national defense and security purposes under the Land Law? This is a question of concern to Mr. Bui Viet Ha (Quy Hop, Nghe An).

ReplyAccording to Article 78 of the 2024 Land Law, which regulates land acquisition for national defense and security purposes, the State shall acquire land for national defense and security purposes in the following cases:

1. To be used as a military base or office;

2. To establish a military base;

3. Constructing national defense structures, battlefields, and special defense and security projects;

4. Constructing railway stations, ports, and military and security communication facilities;

5. Constructing industrial, scientific and technological, cultural, and sports projects that directly serve national defense and security;

6. To serve as a treasure trove for the people's armed forces;

7. Constructing shooting ranges, training grounds, weapons testing sites, and weapons destruction sites;

8. To serve as training facilities, professional training and development centers, convalescent, rehabilitation, and functional recovery facilities, and medical examination and treatment facilities for the people's armed forces;

9. To build official housing for the people's armed forces;

10. To serve as detention facilities; temporary detention centers; compulsory education facilities; reform schools and labor, rehabilitation, vocational training, and career guidance centers for prisoners, detainees, and students managed by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security.
