(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 14, the National Assembly Delegation of the province held a conference to collect comments on the draft Law on Belief and Religion. Comrade Tran Van Mao - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of Nghe An Provincial Police Department and representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

The draft Law on Belief and Religion consists of 9 chapters and 68 articles, regulating the right to freedom of belief and religion; belief and religious activities; religious organizations; rights and obligations of organizations and individuals related to belief and religious activities.

The development of this Law aims to institutionalize the Party's viewpoints and guidelines on religious and belief work, in accordance with the spirit of the 2013 Constitution, demonstrating the development in State management of religious and belief.

At the conference, the majority of delegates approved the Draft Law on Belief and Religion with many provisions that are clearer and more open than the 2004 Ordinance on Belief and Religion, in accordance with the 2013 Constitution and the international convention on belief and religion. However, some provisions are not yet complete and need to be supplemented to ensure more comprehensiveness.

Delegates contributed additional comments to the provisions, focusing on 33/68 articles with the following main groups of issues: regulations on rights, obligations, and responsibilities in religious activities; registration of religious activities; religious organizations; ordination, appointment, dismissal, and removal of dignitaries and officials; religious training facilities; state management and handling of violations in the field of religion; regulations on the issue of re-establishing beliefs; registration of beliefs and religions at the commune level; finance and revenue from religious activities. At the same time, comments were given on the explanation of some concepts and terms in the draft, ensuring more rigor and clarity.

Regarding the structure, delegates said that the draft Law on Belief and Religion is still limited and needs to be more specific. At the same time, they pointed out some overlapping and contradictory contents in some regulations, and suggested that there should be no overlapping and cumbersome regulations, but should be concise and specific.
