Ukrainian armed forces attacked five settlements in Belgorod, Russia.
Five settlements in Russia's Belgorod region have been attacked by Ukrainian armed forces.
According to TASS, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of Russia's Belgorod region, said that five settlements in the area had been attacked by Ukrainian armed forces.
“Five settlements in our region were attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties,” Governor Gladkov wrote on Telegram on August 26.
Gladkov clarified that the Ukrainian armed forces shelled and used drones to attack the Rzhevka area in the Shebekinsky district, the Maslova Pristan area, the Otradnoye area, the Vyazovoe area in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, and the Berezovka area in the Borisov district.
The shelling resulted in extensive damage to numerous apartment buildings, private homes, business facilities, the town hall, and residents' property. A gas pipeline and power lines in the town of Rakitnoe were also damaged by the shelling.
According to the governor of Belgorod, within 24 hours, the region suffered a series of drone and artillery attacks from Ukraine.
The Belgorod region, like Bryansk and Kursk, is located near the border with Ukraine and has been attacked almost daily by Kyiv forces throughout the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
On August 26, Ukraine launched a series of attacks deep into Russian territory, including on the border. The governor of the Saratov region of Russia stated that Ukrainian suicide drones had attacked high-rise buildings in Saratov.
