The Lucid Air is a supercar that was unexpectedly unveiled in mid-December last year. Now, Lucid Motors has decided to announce the specific price of this supercar, which directly competes with the Tesla Model S.

Accordingly, the Lucid Air supercar will have a lower price than initially estimated, starting at $60,000. After deducting $7,500 due to US tax incentives, the Lucid Air will have a starting price of $52,500. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line version of this supercar will cost over $100,000.

The first Lucid Airs to be sold will be the special Launch Edition, featuring a 1,000-horsepower engine and a range of 504 km.

Lucid Motors claims that for that price, customers can own a car that is "super comfortable, has a better user interface, and offers more impressive performance than similarly priced products from BMW and Mercedes-Benz." At the same time, the Lucid Air is significantly cheaper than its competitor, the Tesla Model S.

Lucid Motors states that even in its standard version, the Air supercar boasts a powerful 400-horsepower engine and a range of 240 miles (384 km). In addition, it features rear-wheel drive and "all the necessary technology for autonomous driving."

It is currently unclear whether these technologies will require buyers to pay extra. All that is known is that, similar to Tesla, Lucid Motors will upgrade its vehicles via WiFi.

Some optional features of the standard Lucid Air include a larger battery pack, allowing the car to increase its range to 315-400 miles, approximately 504-640 km. For music lovers, buyers can opt for a 29-speaker sound system instead of the standard 10 speakers in the Lucid Air.

The first Lucid Airs to be sold will be the special Launch Edition, featuring a 1,000-horsepower engine and a range of 504 km. Only 255 Lucid Air Launch Editions will be produced and sold. Customers wishing to purchase this version must place a deposit of $25,000. The corresponding deposit for a regular Lucid Air is $2,500.
