The number of new car registrations in Nghe An has increased to a record high.

According to information from the Traffic Police Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, as of December 15, 2024, the province had 18,064 newly registered automobiles, an increase of nearly 3,000 vehicles compared to 2023.

Specifically, on average, Nghe An province registers about 100-110 new cars per day, with 50 in Vinh City and 50-60 in the districts and towns. It is projected that from December 15th until the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), Nghe An will see an additional 2,000 new car registrations, bringing the total number of new car registrations this year to a record high of 20,000.

With the number of new vehicle registrations as mentioned above, Nghe An continues to rank third nationwide in the number of new car registrations (after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi).

Also related to newly registered vehicles, in 2024, Nghe An province saw the registration of an additional 68,904 new motorbikes and 15,286 new bicycles and electric motorbikes. As of December 15, 2024, the province had a cumulative total of 202,940 cars, 2,089,131 motorbikes, and 152,090 electric vehicles and electric motorbikes.
