Nghe An province received 1.1 million tourists in May 2022.
(Baonghean.vn) - State budget revenue for the first 5 months of Nghe An province is estimated at 8,523 billion VND, reaching 56.8% of the projected target; the number of tourists reached 1.1 million, and tourism revenue reached 985 billion VND.
On the morning of May 24th, the Provincial People's Committee held its regular monthly meeting for May 2022. Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presided over the meeting.
Attending the session were Comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and representatives from the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc and the Party Committee of the Provincial Enterprises Bloc.

The Provincial People's Committee assessed that, to date, the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the province has been basically controlled, and socio-economic activities have returned to a new normal. Nghe An is implementing comprehensively and decisively Government Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP on the Program for socio-economic recovery and development.
The socio-economic situation has shown positive recovery. Specifically, the industrial production index (IIP) in May is estimated to have increased by 12.13% compared to May 2021; the cumulative IIP for the first five months is estimated to have increased by 12.14%. As of May 10, 2022, the disbursement of public investment capital managed by the province reached 23.26%, higher than the same period in 2021.
Retail sales of goods in May are estimated at VND 6,960 billion, an increase of 39.37% compared to the same period in 2021; cumulative sales for the first five months are estimated at VND 35,109 billion, an increase of 24.11%. Goods exports for the first five months are estimated at USD 909.4 million, an increase of 21.84%; imports are estimated at USD 502.94 million, an increase of 20.17% compared to the same period in 2021.

During the month, tourism activities continued to show positive developments; the number of visitors and vacationers increased dramatically, especially during the April 30th - May 1st holidays and the Lotus Village Festival. It is estimated that in May 2022, the number of tourists reached 1.1 million; tourism revenue reached 985 billion VND.
Investment attraction activities continue to receive attention and guidance. As of May 20th, the province has granted licenses to 4 new projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 6,921.61 billion; including 2 social housing projects for workers in the Nam Cam Industrial Park with an investment scale of 6,457 apartments, which, when operational, will provide housing for approximately 19,750 people.

As of May 20th, the province has granted licenses to 41 new projects with a total registered investment capital of VND 11,168.2 billion. 43 projects have been adjusted, including 18 projects with adjusted total investment capital (an increase of VND 13,274.2 billion). The total newly granted and increased capital amounts to VND 24,442.4 billion. Compared to the same period in 2021, the number of newly granted projects increased by 17.14%, and the total newly registered investment capital increased 1.53 times.
State budget revenue in the area for the first 5 months is estimated at 8,523 billion VND, reaching 56.8% of the projected target and equaling 99.4% compared to the same period in 2021. Of this, domestic revenue is estimated at 7,785 billion VND; revenue from import and export activities is estimated at 738 billion VND.

The socio-cultural sector continued to receive attention and guidance; national defense, security, and social order and safety were maintained. The province successfully directed and organized the 2022 Lotus Village Festival, coinciding with the 132nd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, with a series of diverse activities that attracted the attention of a wide range of people. It is estimated that 4,000 jobs were created in May 2022.
Administrative reform and strengthening discipline and order continue to receive attention; the application of information technology in administrative reform is implemented synchronously and decisively. According to the published results, Nghe An's Provincial Public Administration and Governance Performance Index (PAPI) in 2021 reached 43.821 points, placing it among the top 15 provinces and cities nationwide.
