Ly Nha Ky: I have a strange disease

"This is true, I think it is a disease and not a simple matter. However, I have not had time to go see a doctor about this disease," Ly Nha Ky shared.

Famous for her expensive designer clothes and hundreds of billions of dollars in assets, along with many prominent appearances on international red carpets, few people know that Ly Nha Ky has a rather simple private life, in contrast to the outside world's glamour.

At the program "Chuyen cung sao" of Sports and Culture Newspaper, Ly Nha Ky shared about her very ordinary daily life.

Maid by day, princess by night

I am passionate about beauty, I like anything that is beautiful. Sometimes, I buy something but never use it, just because it is beautiful. I simply like to buy and own it. And I have a disease because I was poor when I was young, so now when I buy things, I always buy two or three sets of the same thing, just in different colors.

About people saying I wear expensive, luxurious clothes. It's just that when I attend events or stand in front of the public, I have to dress neatly and politely, but normally I'm very simple. I like to wear sandals, jeans, and cartoon and stuffed animal shirts.

I am also a perfectionist. For example, in a meeting, I will tell everyone to stop just to move the table one more hand span. Or, I will personally choose each pair of slippers in the company bathroom, which color is for men and which color is for women.

In my free time, I usually clean the house or buy furniture to redecorate the house. I like to display things and love neatness. I love cleaning so much that I even clean my own room when I stay in a hotel.

My house has quite a few visitors, the first thing they always ask is "Have you just moved here?", because my house is so clean and tidy, not like a house that is regularly lived in.

Even when I went to a film festival abroad and was busy from morning to night, I still had to clean up my hotel room before I could sleep. I even arranged every chair and table in the room to my liking. Every day was the same.

Even if someone puts a glass of water in the wrong place, I will come and put it back in its right place. Of course, I don't ask people to do it for me, I will come and clean everything up myself.

If people see me often, they will see that I am a maid during the day and a princess at night. Because at night I am very neat when attending events, but during the day my hair is always messy and my clothes are sloppy.

I am the type of person who, once I do something, I do it regardless. Appearance and image are no longer important. That way I can achieve what I want.

Suffering from a strange disease that has not been examined yet

I have a strange disease that cannot be cured. It is that I often forget everything that happened after a night's sleep. Therefore, many people say they hate me, but after a night, I can no longer remember their names and faces. Even when I meet them again, I still shake their hands and greet them. Even when someone reminds me, I still can't remember.

This is true, I think it is a disease and not a simple matter. However, I have not had time to go to the doctor about this disease.

I am not good at English, but my international relations are still good, and international friends still understand me. Simply because I dare to break the language barrier.

If they don't understand once, say it again and again and find a way to explain it to them. Just speak confidently and explain it to them so they understand.

I admit that I am not good at English, and I did not go to English school. But I have experience in communication and my foreign friends taught me. When foreigners say something that I do not understand, I will let them explain it to me. I learn English from my own life.

For the past 5 years, I have only focused on business. The time I spend on myself is only 6 hours a day, the rest is spent on work.

One day, I had a lot of work to do, which made me very stressed. However, I had to find a solution to relieve that stress. For example, I could boil sweet potatoes for everyone to eat to relieve stress.

I don’t like cooking, I just like delicious food. When I lived in Germany, my point of view was that cooking just needed to be done, it didn’t need to be developed to the point of being delicious. But I like delicious food, I know when something is delicious.

Want a husband but haven't found one yet

In every job I do, I cherish and do my best so that the audience remembers me, and I do not focus on any particular job, whether it is an actor, tourism ambassador or businessman. Only then can I gain more experience and accumulate more knowledge.

I also always have to learn, from the smallest to the largest people in society.

Currently, I am working in the Standing Committee of the Vietnam – Philippines Friendship Union and am Vice President of the Vietnam Jewelry and Gemstone Association, Vice President of the Vietnam Motorcycle and Bicycle Federation… in general, it is a lot of work. But I do not feel much pressure.

The word success is very vague, because it depends on each person's perspective and point of view. To me, success is simply trying your best to achieve what you want, there is no formula.

For example, recently there was a big event in Italy inviting many famous people. I had already prepared all the plane tickets and crew, but it coincided with the office moving day so I canceled the whole trip. Many people said I was foolish for missing the opportunity to meet many big partners in the world, but I think moving to a new office is also a success.

I like cinema, especially acting because it gives me many challenges, allowing me to live with many different personalities. Since I was little, I have loved being an actor, but my parents did not support me much, they just wanted me to have a stable job.

That's why I decided to become a sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival, to fund funds, as well as young talents in the film industry.

Besides, I also want to do many things to contribute to the image of my country.

I don't get upset or think much about the opinions that I sponsor this and that to improve my personal image. If you are ugly, you think others are ugly too, that's all. Besides, without a personal image, where can we get an image of the country? My point of view is to honor the image of Vietnam through my personal image.

As a woman, everyone wants to have a husband who loves them. If I get married, it would be like finding the last piece of the puzzle in my life. So, I really want to have one, but I haven't found it yet.
