After nearly two years of settling down, actor Huy Khánh's ex-wife shared her thoughts on the challenges her daughter Cát Cát faces going to school in cold weather, while also affirming her wish for her daughter to "suffer now and enjoy a better life later."
Adapting to life in Finland
Recently, Mac Anh Thu shared updates about her current life in Finland with her daughter, Cat Cat. She expressed her concern about her daughter having to go to school in harsh weather conditions, with temperatures dropping to -5 to -10 degrees Celsius in winter.
On her personal page, the former model wrote: "Every time I think about my child having to wake up for school in the freezing cold of -5 to -10 degrees Celsius and in pitch darkness like this, I think, 'Who's torturing her like this?' Well, I just hope for a better future. When I was young, I was too sheltered, so I didn't grow up to be successful. Now, I'm raising my child in the opposite way, hoping that she will be more successful and have a better life than me."
Since bringing her daughter to Finland to study abroad at the end of 2023, Mac Anh Thu and Cat Cat have gradually adapted to their new lifestyle. Currently, Cat Cat, 13 years old, is attending secondary school. As for herself, Mac Anh Thu is also participating in a self-development course, alongside taking care of her daughter.
Future plans
Initially, the former model faced many difficulties having to manage everything on her own without family support. Despite this, she decided to stay because she didn't want to disrupt her child's education.
Mac Anh Thu shared: "The positive thing is that my daughter Cat and I have connected more deeply and become closer living here. Both of us are happy and content, enjoying the simple things." She plans to stay in Finland until her daughter finishes high school. To settle down long-term, she is considering opening a small company or learning a new profession. Currently, her business in Ho Chi Minh City still provides her with a stable income.

After their divorce, Mac Anh Thu and actor Huy Khanh maintained a friendly relationship to co-parent their daughter. Whenever she had the chance to return to Vietnam, she would still meet and have meals with her ex-husband. Huy Khanh also showed his closeness and support for her in her work.
However, Mac Anh Thu has repeatedly denied rumors of a reunion. She stated that she respects the feelings of her fans but hopes that people will not interfere too deeply in her private life. "I am capable enough to know what I should do to benefit my child and myself," she affirmed.
Mac Anh Thu and Huy Khanh ended their marriage of over 10 years in 2023. After the divorce, she took her daughter to Finland to settle, while Huy Khanh remained in Vietnam to continue developing his career.
