Runner-up Mai Ngo faced controversy for livestreaming sales during the Miss Charm 2025 competition. The organizers stated that they had agreed to the livestream and that it would not affect the results.
Information regarding runner-up Mai Ngo (Ngo Thi Quynh Mai), Vietnam's representative at Miss Charm 2025, livestreaming sales while the competition was underway has sparked much debate on social media. Following this incident, both Mai Ngo and the organizers have issued official responses.
Official response from stakeholders
At the sash presentation ceremony, Mai Ngo explained that this was a pre-arranged task. She had requested permission and received approval from the organizing committee. The Vietnamese representative affirmed that she was only absent from one dinner with the contestants and assured that she would fully participate in all other scheduled activities.
Ms. Thuy Nga, President of Miss Charm, also confirmed this information. She stated that November 27th and 28th were primarily dedicated to welcoming contestants. Official activities and judging only began on November 30th. Therefore, Mai Ngo's livestream or some contestants arriving late did not affect the final results.
"Mai Ngo requested permission to participate in the livestream and the organizers agreed because it did not affect the overall schedule of the competition," Ms. Nga emphasized.
Mai Ngo's preparations and the scale of Miss Charm 2025
As someone with considerable experience, Mai Ngo stated that she had been preparing for the competition since the beginning of the year, focusing on improving her physique, performance skills, and English. Recognizing that the Q&A round was her previous weakness, she meticulously trained herself mentally and academically to achieve the best possible result.
Miss Charm 2025, held in Vietnam, brought together 39 contestants from across the continents. This year, the competition adjusted the age range from 18 to 35, opening up opportunities for more beautiful women. With the mission of promoting culture, education, and tourism, each contestant is not only a beauty representative but also a cultural ambassador of their country.
The competition began its activities on November 27th, and the grand finale is scheduled to take place on December 12th in Ho Chi Minh City. Some of the highly-rated candidates include representatives from Colombia, Thailand, the Philippines, the United States, and Brazil.
