This information was released after Malian security sources said the operation to rescue more than 100 hostages held in the Radisson Blu hotel had ended after Malian security forces, with the support of US and French special forces, stormed the hotel.
At least three attackers were killed.
The Al-Mourabitoun jihadist group in northern Mali, which is linked to the Al-Qaeda terrorist network, has claimed responsibility for the hostage-taking. However, this claim has not been verified.
