Man United want a Japanese goalkeeper, waiting for Jonathan David to become available on a free transfer.
Under manager Ruben Amorim, Manchester United are gradually stabilizing and returning to their transfer targets.

Despite potentially being less active in January due to financial constraints, Manchester United are still keeping an eye on potential targets. Notably, Man United are interested in Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, who previously rejected them. Additionally, they have a chance to sign Jonathan David from Lille on a free transfer next summer.
Manchester United had approached Suzuki when he was at Urawa Red Diamonds, but the 22-year-old declined, not wanting to be a backup for Andre Onana. However, Suzuki's impressive performances at Parma have brought him back into Manchester United's sights. Parma value the Japanese goalkeeper at £40 million, a figure too high for Manchester United to afford in January. Nevertheless, the good performance of backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir in the FA Cup win against Arsenal has helped alleviate concerns about the Red Devils' goalkeeping position.
Besides a goalkeeper, Manchester United are also interested in Lille striker Jonathan David, whose contract expires this summer. The Canadian has scored 11 goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances this season and also has 4 goals in the Champions League. Manchester United will have to compete with Juventus for David's signature. Acquiring Jonathan David on a free transfer would be a significant addition to the team.
