In the top seven positions of UEFA's list, the Premier League has five clubs present, while Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool also possess more expensive squads than Barcelona - the club ranked eighth.

But that also means that at least one of the clubs in the Top 7 expensive squads will be absent from the Champions League next season, because the Premier League only has a maximum of four representatives participating.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) also owns a squad of players with a higher total transfer value than Barca.

Barca has the eighth highest total transfer fee in the squad, mainly thanks to the stars who have grown up in the club's own youth academy, notably Messi, Inniesta, Xavi.
