VinaPhone network lost signal
Vinaphone network users in some areas said their phones lost signal and could not send messages, make calls or use 4G.
"At 4 p.m., I was making a call and it was disconnected. I tried again several times but it was unsuccessful. I looked at the notification on my phone and realized there was no signal left," said Ngoc Hai (Trung Van, Hanoi). Many other Vinaphone network users in Hanoi also reported that their phones suddenly lost signal even though they did not change the settings.
In addition to the above situation, some people said that their phones are currently connected to 3G or 4G, can access the internet but cannot make calls. "I used a SIM card from another network to call a VinaPhone SIM card, but received a notification that the call could not be connected," said Mr. Xuan Thanh (Dong Da, Hanoi).
Meanwhile, Thanh Que, an office worker in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, said that when she made a call, she heard a successful connection notification but could not hear it. "I have not dared to call a ride-hailing service because I am afraid that the driver might not be able to contact me when he comes to pick me up," she said.

Wintel virtual mobile network using Vinaphone's infrastructure also encountered similar problems. According to Mr. Pho Van Tu in Trung Hoa, Cau Giay, his two SIM cards using the two above networks both lost signal and were unstable at the same time.
By 5pm, communications should be back to normal. Users may need to turn their mobile network connection off and on again or restart their device.
A representative of VinaPhone confirmed that the mobile network problem caused communication disruption in some areas and has been resolved, and apologized to customers. On the company's website, VinaPhone said that its mobile network with 3G/4G technology had more than 34 million subscribers as of 2019.
Previously, within just 3 months, MobiFone network also experienced widespread signal loss twice, mainly in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of October 24, 2022 and the afternoon of January 4.
Domestic users have been continuously affected by Internet connection problems in recent days. Since January 28, four out of five submarine fiber optic cables connecting to Vietnam have encountered problems, causing international Internet to be unstable.
