VinaPhone network loses signal.
Vinaphone users in some areas reported losing signal and being unable to send text messages, make calls, or use 4G.
"Around 4 PM, I was on a call when it suddenly cut off. I tried again several times but it didn't work. Looking at the notification on my phone, I realized there were no signal bars left," said Ngoc Hai (Trung Van, Hanoi). Many other Vinaphone users in Hanoi also reported that their phones unexpectedly lost signal despite not changing any settings.
Besides the above issue, some people say their phones are currently connected to 3G or 4G and can access the internet, but they cannot make calls. "I used a SIM card from another network provider to call my VinaPhone SIM, but I received a message saying the call could not connect," shared Mr. Xuan Thanh (Dong Da, Hanoi).
Meanwhile, Thanh Que, an office worker in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, said that when she made a call, the connection was confirmed but she couldn't hear anything. "I haven't dared to call a ride-hailing service because I'm afraid the driver might not be reachable when they arrive to pick me up," she said.

The Wintel virtual mobile network, which uses Vinaphone's infrastructure, is also experiencing similar problems. According to Mr. Pho Van Tu in Trung Hoa, Cau Giay, both of his SIM cards from the aforementioned networks are losing signal and experiencing intermittent connectivity issues simultaneously.
By around 5 PM, communication gradually returned to normal. Users may need to turn their mobile network connection off and on again, or restart their device.
A representative from VinaPhone confirmed that the mobile network outage caused communication disruptions in some areas and that the issue has been resolved, while also offering an apology to customers. On its website, VinaPhone stated that its 3G/4G mobile network had over 34 million subscribers as of 2019.
Previously, within just three months, MobiFone also experienced two widespread network outages, mainly in Ho Chi Minh City on the morning of October 24, 2022, and the afternoon of January 4.
Domestic users have been continuously affected by internet connectivity issues in recent days. Since January 28th, four out of five undersea fiber optic cables connecting to Vietnam have experienced problems, causing intermittent international internet access.
