When Secret Service agents fly with people in need of protection, they use their budget to cover the costs, and they have to pay Donald Trump in exchange for seats on his private planes.
During his presidential campaign, the New York tycoon asked the federal government to pay $6 million to give Secret Service agents access to his plane. The $6 million figure was revealed because all financial details related to a presidential candidate's campaign are submitted to the Federal Election Commission, according to NBC News.
When Donald Trump becomes president, he will fly on Air Force One. The Boeing 757 that the New York tycoon owns through his private company will be used by his relatives or anyone else with authority. If Trump wants the US Secret Service to protect these people, that request can be fully met.
However, when the campaign ended, the plane was simply owned by the Trump company, so it is difficult to predict how much Mr. Trump could be paid by the federal government if he applied this method.
Donald Trump bought the Boeing 757 in 2011 and renovated it. He usually calls it the T-Bird, but after winning the US presidential election, his private plane may be called "Trump Force One".
The plane is said to be worth more than 100 million USD with powerful Rolls Royce engines. The interior of the plane, even the seat belts and sinks, are gold-plated. Mr. Trump's bedroom has decorative wood panels and silk pillows embroidered with his family crest. The plane also has a "miniature theater" including a 57-inch screen and a modern sound system./.
