Conflict over land clearance results in dozens of casualties among officials.

While officials from Long Son Company were bringing in vehicles to clear land illegally encroached upon by a local resident, a conflict arose. During the argument, a group of people suddenly appeared and opened fire with shotguns, killing three people on the spot and seriously injuring many others.

On the afternoon of October 23, information from the Dak Nong Provincial Police indicated that they are coordinating with the Tuy Duc District Police, deploying forces to the scene of the shooting that left three people dead on the spot and dozens seriously injured, in order to apprehend the perpetrator.

Accordingly, at around 7:30 this morning, October 23rd, dozens of forest protection officers from Long Son Co., Ltd. (located in Quang Truc commune, Tuy Duc district) brought vehicles and machinery into the cashew orchard (allegedly illegally encroached upon) belonging to a man named Thang (whose specific address is unknown) in Sub-area 1563 to clear the land.

While authorities were clearing and evacuating the area, a group of people appeared at the scene, obstructing and verbally abusing them, leading to a conflict and scuffle. During the scuffle, a group of about 3 to 5 people suddenly appeared, armed with shotguns, and opened fire on the evacuating team. This horrific shooting resulted in the deaths of 3 employees of Long Son Co., Ltd. on the spot, and approximately 5 to 7 other employees were seriously injured.

After committing the crime, the group of perpetrators quickly fled the scene. Currently, the seriously injured officers are receiving emergency treatment at the Quang Truc commune health station, while some with severe injuries are being transported to Tuy Duc District General Hospital for further treatment.

According to an investigating officer, the road from the center of Tuy Duc district to the scene of the incident is quite long, and it is raining heavily.

"Currently, the task force from the Provincial and District Police is approaching the scene and mobilizing all forces to urgently apprehend the group of suspects responsible for the incident," the investigating officer added.
