After a conflict with his ex-girlfriend, the man used gasoline to set fire to a mother and her two children.
On August 20th, the Dong Nai Provincial Police arrested Nguyen Quang Dung, 42 years old, residing in Tam Phuoc commune, Bien Hoa city, for investigation into the act of murder when he used a can of gasoline to set fire to three people, causing severe burns.
The victims who suffered severe burns and are receiving emergency treatment at the hospital include Nguyen Thi Hue, 37 years old; Vu Thi Thuy Linh, 14 years old; and Vu Thi Hong Nhung, 12 years old, all of whom are Hue's daughters.

The incident occurred in the early hours of the same day when Dung unexpectedly bought a can of gasoline, went to Ms. Hue's rented room, poured it over the three of them (mother and two children), and set them on fire. Residents in the same row of rented rooms and nearby residents quickly extinguished the fire and rescued the three victims.
However, because the gasoline ignited so quickly, all three of Mrs. Hue's family members suffered severe burns, and Dung himself also sustained some burns while chasing Mrs. Hue to assault her.
Initial investigations indicate the incident stemmed from a conflict over a romantic relationship between Dung and Ms. Hue, who had previously lived together as husband and wife along with Ms. Hue's two children from a previous relationship. Recently, after Ms. Hue broke up with Dung and refused to let him into their rented room, Dung heartlessly committed the crime.
