E-4B Nightwatch doomsday drones appear at a strategic US base.
The Boeing E-4B Nightwatch has been operating continuously over Offutt Air Force Base amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran following President Donald Trump's ultimatum.
The E-4B Nightwatch strategic command aircraft, often referred to as the "Doomsday Plane," was recently spotted conducting unusual flight operations around Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, USA. This occurred on April 6th (local time), just before President Donald Trump's ultimatum to Iran was due to expire.
Unusual activity at the US nuclear command center.
Flight tracking data shows the Boeing E-4B Nightwatch took off from Offutt Air Force Base at 10:17 a.m. During its flight, the aircraft circled the area at least six times before landing again. Notably, Offutt Air Force Base is home to the U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM), the agency responsible for managing Washington's nuclear deterrence and strategic military operations.

The appearance of the E-4B Nightwatch is considered particularly sensitive given the high level of tension in US-Iran relations. The US administration had set a deadline of April 7th for Tehran to accept a peace plan and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, along with warnings of attacks on energy infrastructure if the demands were not met.
The combat capabilities of the 'Flying Pentagon'
The E-4B Nightwatch aircraft serves as a mobile airborne command center for the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is a vital command platform designed to maintain supreme leadership in the event of nuclear war or a large-scale global catastrophe.
The U.S. currently maintains a squadron of four E-4B aircraft. Although training flights are conducted regularly throughout the year to maintain combat readiness, their presence during periods of military crisis always attracts particular attention from international observers.
Specifications and survivability
Developed on the Boeing 747-200 platform, the E-4B Nightwatch possesses superior technical characteristics to cope with the harshest conditions of modern warfare:
- Protection against electromagnetic pulse (EMP):The electronic systems are reinforced to withstand the impact of nuclear explosions and cyberattacks.
- Global contact:Equipped with 67 antennas and state-of-the-art satellite equipment, it ensures seamless connectivity with all U.S. military units worldwide.
- Flight range:It is capable of flying continuously for over 11,000 km without refueling.
- Capacity:It can carry up to 112 people, with full living and working facilities spread across 3 floors.

The interior of the aircraft is divided into several specialized areas, including a meeting room, a combat command area, a team work area, and 18 sleeping quarters. With this structure, the E-4B is not just a transport vehicle, but a complete nuclear warfare operations center in the sky.
