A combine harvester reversing in the field seriously injured a woman who was collecting straw.
While gathering straw in the field, a woman was hit by a reversing combine harvester and fell under the machine. This workplace accident recently occurred in Dong Van commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province.
According to local residents, on the evening of August 19th, Ms. Tran Thi Xuan (45 years old) from Loc Xuan hamlet, Dong Van commune, went to the field to collect straw.
While gathering straw in the Rọng Đìa area, she was hit by a reversing combine harvester, falling under the machine and suffering a broken collarbone, ribs, and a fractured pelvis.
Immediately after the incident, the family of the combine harvester owner used their car to transport the victim to Thanh Chuong District General Hospital.
The victim was then transferred to a higher-level medical facility.
This morning, at the Nghe An Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital, the victim is undergoing surgery.
It is known that Ms. Xuan and her husband are road construction workers, responsible for the section of Highway 15A from Truong Bon to Nam Dan.
Ms. Xuan's family has two young children (one in 6th grade, one in 2nd grade). During harvest season, she often takes the opportunity to go to the fields to collect straw for the cows to eat.
