Mother saves 3-year-old child from well, both die.

Seeing her child fall into the well, the mother rushed to save him, but both drowned. Authorities recovered the bodies of the victims and handed them over to relatives for burial.

According to initial information, at 10:15 AM on December 18th, Mr. Do Quang Du (residing in Ea Tul commune, Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province) discovered Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien (24 years old, residing in Ea Tu commune, Cu Mgar district, Dak Lak province) and her child, Tran Truc Binh (3 years old), had drowned in Mr. Du's family well.

The person then reported the incident to the authorities. By 2 PM the same day, the bodies of the victims were recovered from the well and handed over to their families for burial.

According to authorities, Ms. Hien called Mr. Du "uncle." That morning, the woman and her young child went to her uncle's house to help look after the farm. When she saw her 3-year-old son fall into the well, she went down to rescue him but drowned.

Mr. Dang Van Hoan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Tu commune, said that Ms. Hien's family was classified as near-poor during the period 2015-2020. Due to their difficult circumstances, the couple had to work as laborers to earn money to support their children.
