Riyad Mahrez has just been awarded the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Year title. This is a well-deserved achievement after Mahrez scored 17 goals and provided 11 assists, helping Leicester City to be just one win away from winning the Premier League title at this point.

Mahrez's performances have attracted the attention of numerous big clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid, PSG, and Arsenal. However, Mahrez's mother wants him to continue playing for Leicester, the club that brought him glory.

"I really want Riyad to stay at Leicester. They opened the door to glory for my son's career," Mahrez said in an interview. "This is the perfect club for Riyad, which is why I want my son to continue his career here and live in England."

"England is where my son made his name and was even voted the best player. Of course, he's the one who decides his own future, but I would advise him to continue playing in the Premier League. His life is stable here."

Mahrez's mother took to the stage during a ceremony honoring her son.

Mahrez has had a profound influence on her son Riyad's life. The Moroccan woman single-handedly raised the 25-year-old midfielder in the suburbs of Sarcelles, Paris, after his father passed away a decade ago.

In England, Mahrez also has a girlfriend, local model Rita Johal, and the couple welcomed their first daughter in 2015.
