'Child kidnapper' charged with abducting children.

(Baonghean.vn) - A 28-year-old woman has been charged with child abduction for taking a 15-month-old child to raise.

On January 13th, Lieutenant Colonel To Van Hau, Head of the Ky Son District Police, announced that the investigative agency had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (28 years old, residing in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) for the crime of...Child abductionAccording to Article 120 of the Criminal Code.

Earlier, around noon on January 6th, in Muong Xen town (Ky Son district), Tran Thi Thanh Thuy was identified as having abducted 15-month-old Ha Manh Hung, who was standing by the roadside, and fled. Shortly afterward, someone spotted her and chased after her, coordinating with the police to apprehend Thuy.

At the police station, after hours of evasive denials, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy confessed that she had a husband and child. She traveled by bus from Vung Tau city to the bus station in Do Luong district. On January 6th, Thuy took another bus from Do Luong to Ky Son district.

Around noon on January 6th, after getting off a bus in Muong Xen town, Thuy saw a young boy playing on the roadside. After observing for a while and waiting for an opportunity, Thuy picked up the child and left the scene.

After running about half a kilometer, realizing she was being pursued, the suspect carried the child to the gate of the kindergarten, pretending to be a "parent dropping off their child." However, the teacher refused to let her in, so she continued to run away with the child, but was apprehended by the public in cooperation with the police.

"The kidnapper," Thuy, stated that she found the baby cute and intended to take it home to raise. The investigating agency also determined that Thuy acted alone, with no one else involved.

The Kỳ Sơn District Police are finalizing the case file.
