A command from the heart: Honoring 81 years of the Vietnam People's Army
The special art program "Orders from the Heart" recreates the glorious journey of the Vietnam People's Army, paying tribute to the sacrifices and honoring the soldiers who served the people.
To commemorate the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2025) and the 36th anniversary of the National Defense Day, the Propaganda Department of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army collaborated with Vietnam Television to produce a special art program titled "The Command of the Heart".
The program was attended by General Phan Van Giang - Member of the Political Bureau, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Comrade Trinh Van Quyet - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; along with high-ranking leaders of the Party, State, Ministry of National Defense, Vietnam Television and a large number of officers and soldiers.
A glorious 81-year journey through three chapters.
The "Command from the Heart" program is structured into three chapters: "Spirit from the Red Flames," "Mission Amidst Peace," and "The Oath to Build a Beautiful Nation." The program's content portrays the journey of fighting, sacrificing, and maturing of the Vietnam People's Army, from wartime to its pivotal role in building and defending the Fatherland in peacetime.
Many touching stories were shared, such as the story of two generations of pilots, father and son Luong Dinh Hoi and Luong Nguyen Huu Phuoc, inheriting their dream of flying, or the resilience of submarine soldiers. The program also highlighted the image of soldiers in peacetime through the story of the engineering soldiers building the Phong Chau pontoon bridge, connecting the two banks for the local people.
Furthermore, stories of love and personal sacrifice, such as the reunion of Lieutenant Nguyen Quang Phuong and his girlfriend Thu Trang, have shown that the new generation of Ho Chi Minh soldiers are always ready to set aside personal happiness for the greater good of the nation.
Mission in peacetime and vision for the future.
The program affirms that, for over 80 years, the Vietnam People's Army has always been a solid pillar of support for the Party, the State, and the people. The Army not only protects sovereignty but also stands side-by-side with the people in socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and is a leading force in disaster prevention, search and rescue.
In the economic sphere, the military has made its mark on many key national projects. The defense industry has also made breakthroughs, mastering core technologies and successfully manufacturing many modern weapons and equipment.
In foreign relations, the Vietnam People's Army actively participates in United Nations peacekeeping operations, affirming its role and responsibility to the international community. Looking ahead to the 2025-2030 term, the army will continue to effectively implement the motto "two steadfast principles, two intensified efforts, and two preventive measures" to firmly protect the Fatherland.

Interspersed throughout the stories are elaborately staged artistic performances that evoke national pride. Many familiar songs are given new arrangements, combined with modern, youthful works, celebrating love for the homeland and the image of the soldier.
