Messi and Neymar are competing for the Goal of the Year award.
FIFA has announced the list of 10 nominees for the 2016 Goal of the Year award, which includes two masterpieces by Messi and Neymar.
Messi's nominated goal came in the Argentina-USA match at the Copa America, while Neymar's was a lob shot from a solo run in the Barcelona-Villarreal match in La Liga.

The list of 10 nominees announced by FIFA on the evening of November 21st also includes many other masterpieces such as Saul Niguez's solo run, Robson-Kanu's backheel goal, or Moh Faiz Subri's (Malaysia) curling free-kick that even legend Roberto Carlos would admire.
FIFA selected 10 candidates between October 2015 and October 2016. The voting took place on the FIFA website. Anyone could access and vote.
The awards ceremony will take place at the FIFA Football Gala on January 9, 2017. This is also the ceremony for the FIFA Best Player award, a new title separated from the Ballon d'Or.
