Northern Vietnam experienced three consecutive days of rain, with humid weather and humidity reaching nearly 100%. However, due to the impact of a strong cold front, the rain-causing westerly trough weakened rapidly, resulting in completely dry weather in the North today, with biting cold temperatures, and temperatures dropping to a low of 6 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas.

Due to being completely surrounded by a cold air mass, last night and this morning will be the peak of this cold spell. Even in the capital city of Hanoi, going outside feels like your hands are freezing because the temperature has dropped to only 13-14 degrees Celsius, coupled with high humidity.
The highest temperature forecast for the day is only 15-17 degrees Celsius. Compared to two days ago, the temperature has dropped by 6-8 degrees Celsius.
In mountainous provinces such as Mau Son (Lang Son) and Sa Pa (Lao Cai), the cold weather is severe, with temperatures dropping to as low as 6 degrees Celsius this morning. In other mountainous provinces, temperatures are generally between 9 and 12 degrees Celsius.
In the Northwest region, the weather is warmer by 1-2 degrees, with daytime highs reaching 15-18 degrees Celsius. However, in the Northwest provinces such as Dien Bien, Son La, and Lao Cai, temperatures remain at 18-21 degrees.
From tomorrow, temperatures in the North will gradually rise, but it will be difficult to reach the warm 25-26 degrees Celsius seen recently. Around January 16th, a weak cold front will arrive.
