In line with the initiative to encourage Hue women to wear traditional Vietnamese ao dai (long dress) and to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province issued Official Letter No. 1133/UBND-GD dated March 5, 2019, to the Hue Imperial Citadel Relics Conservation Center, directing the center to waive 100% of entrance fees to Hue historical sites from March 7th to March 9th, 2019, for domestic and international women who wear traditional Vietnamese ao dai when visiting Hue historical sites.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center to implement the above-mentioned suggestions and widely publicize them to officials and the public so that they can participate.

With the desire to bring the image of Hue's ao dai back to its "golden age" and contribute significantly to enhancing the status and beauty of Hue women, Thua Thien Hue province recently launched a campaign encouraging women to wear traditional Vietnamese ao dai.

After a period of implementation, the campaign has created a positive effect and received widespread support from women in the province. The image of traditional ao dai dresses is increasingly spreading in offices, schools, and on the streets, contributing significantly to honoring the cultural identity and traditional beauty of the Vietnamese ao dai, celebrating the graceful and gentle beauty of women in the ancient capital city, and "making Hue more beautiful" in the eyes of friends and tourists.

Reportedly, following a proposal from the Department of Science and Technology, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has also agreed in principle to organize a provincial-level scientific conference on the theme "Promoting Hue's cultural values ​​in building the Hue ao dai brand" in mid-March 2019 in Hue City.
