The State Bank of Vietnam stated that, based on registration demand and the amount of commemorative banknotes delivered, it will announce the specific quantity to be sold to organizations and individuals accordingly. This sale will continue until all the commemorative banknotes delivered to the area are sold. Organizations wishing to purchase must submit a written request. The selling price is 20,000 VND per banknote for loose notes and 25,000 VND per banknote for those in folders (with covers).
Speaking with VnExpress, a leader of the State Bank of Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City branch said that based on registration demand, the agency will consider implementation plans and arrange sales locations to ensure the most convenient transactions for organizations and individuals without affecting other tasks of the State Bank of Vietnam in the city. According to this official, as of noon today, many individual registrations have already been received.
Earlier in Hanoi, where the commemorative 100 dong banknotes went on sale from April 12th, there was an overwhelming situation with hundreds of people queuing for hours at the State Bank of Vietnam headquarters to buy the money.
The 100 dong commemorative banknote was issued to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the founding of the State Bank of Vietnam (May 6, 1951 - May 6, 2016). The commemorative banknote is larger than regular polymer banknotes (82x163mm), made of red cotton material. The front features the national emblem, a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, the words "State Bank of Vietnam," the denomination of 100 dong in bold, the 65th anniversary logo, and the signature of Governor Nguyen Van Binh.
