| Mr. Tam installed a speaker system in the pigsty to play music for the pigs to listen to. He raises three batches of pigs a year, with 100 pigs in each batch. |
After leaving the military and returning to his hometown, Mr. Tam received 2 hectares of hilly land in Hamlet 8, Tao Son Commune, to start his business. The barren, hilly land required significant effort and investment to improve. To successfully build his integrated farming model (gardening, fish farming, and livestock raising), in addition to capital, he also learned about farming and animal husbandry through training courses and information from the media.
In 2014, he boldly borrowed 200 million VND to invest in building a large-scale, integrated livestock complex for raising pigs, chickens, and ducks, along with planting fruit trees. At the foot of the hill, he dug a pond to raise various types of commercial fish.
The most effective aspect of the farm is its herd of about 100 fattening pigs, where he applies new advancements in animal husbandry to ensure their safe and healthy growth. He buys feed from reputable brands and combines it with roughage from agricultural by-products. Notably, he has also installed a speaker system in the pigsties, playing music for the pigs to listen to, promoting faster growth.

Mr. Tam's farm also has 2,500 chickens, 300 ducks, and 21 sows. He also combines fish farming with a nearly 3,500m2 water surface area, utilizing pig manure as fish feed, saving on feed costs. He harvests the fish twice a year, in June and December.
Revenue from raising pigs, chickens, ducks, fish, etc., has helped his family earn a profit of over 300 million VND per year, making it one of the exemplary farms in Tao Son commune.
Using abundant animal manure, Mr. Tam learned composting techniques to create safe organic fertilizer for 0.5 hectares of fruit trees and 1 hectare of acacia trees.

According to Mr. Tam, one of the key issues for success in livestock farming is mastering the technical procedures for care and disease prevention; and administering vaccines according to the correct schedule.
