Opening of the Nghe Tinh Folk Song Club Training Class in 2022
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 11th, the opening ceremony of a training course on teaching and preserving the values of Nghe Tinh folk songs took place at the Nghe An Provincial Traditional Arts Center. The aim was to preserve and promote these values within the club system and among all segments of the population.
Attending the training course were Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; representatives from various departments and agencies; leaders of the Provincial Traditional Arts Center; and more than 100 trainees, including artisans and cultural officials from four districts: Nam Dan, Hung Nguyen, Do Luong, and Thanh Chuong.
The training course will take place over 3 days (from July 11-13), during which participants will be guided and taught basic melodies, as well as practical skills and methods for creating new lyrics for these folk songs by experienced musicians, artists, and officials such as People's Artist Pham Tien Dung, People's Artist Trinh Hong Luu, Meritorious Artist An Ninh, Meritorious Artist Dinh Dac, musician Phan Thanh, and Master Nguyen Xuan Thuy.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi My Hanh shared: “After the Vi and Giam folk songs were honored by UNESCO, their value has been elevated. Our goal is to create the strongest possible spread, not only within the province and the country but also internationally. Therefore, the provincial leadership is very interested and has many projects to preserve and spread the value of Vi and Giam folk songs. I hope that the lecturers will teach with responsibility and dedication, and that the trainees will try to absorb the content of the lectures. More importantly, after the club members and artisans absorb the lectures, they will create a transmission and spread to establish more Vi and Giam folk song clubs.”
The Director of the Department of Culture and Sports also expressed his wish that subsequent training sessions and teaching classes would be organized in various localities, with a wider range of participants so that more people would join after each session of teaching and knowledge transfer.
It is understood that the training course is one of the important contents in the plan of the Project "Protecting and promoting the value of the folk songs of Nghe Tinh in Nghe An province in the period 2021 - 2025", approved by the People's Committee of Nghe An province.
