Every year Nghe An has nearly 10 hectares of VietGap tilapia farming
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 30, in Vinh City, the National Agricultural Extension Center coordinated with Nghe An Agricultural Extension Center to organize training on tilapia farming techniques according to VietGap process associated with product consumption.
Nghe An is a province that the National Agricultural Extension Center is interested in supporting with resources for freshwater fish farming, including tilapia. On average, each year the province is supported to deploy 1-2 tilapia models according to VietGap process.
Currently, the potential and demand for commercial tilapia farming is quite large, but the farming model according to VietGap process of the province is still modest (average only 5-10 ha/year) and product output is very difficult.
The training program was organized by Nghe An Agricultural Extension Center to provide tilapia breeding techniques according to VietGap process, thereby replicating this breeding model in the province.

During the 2 days, the studentstechnical staff and owners of tilapia ponds in the province haveExperts from the National Agricultural Extension Center provided information on the aquaculture situation and the current status of freshwater aquaculture in the country, requiring practical conversion to clean and safe farming processes according to VietGap standards.
Through the training course, experts also warned about some signs of unsafe ponds; risks that traditional tilapia farmers face; solutions to ensure food hygiene and safety and find outlets when raising commercial tilapia...
