"All of America's attempts to weaken Russia have failed."
In an interview with Sputnik, Turkish experts commented on the US Treasury Department's recent publication of the so-called "Kremlin List," which includes 210 individuals linked to Russia's top leadership, among them 114 high-ranking politicians and 96 Russian businesspeople.

The publication of this list is a clear signal from Washington: "stop cooperating with the Kremlin." The US administration is making such strict demands not only on Russia's political and business elite, but also on EU businesses that have recently shown "inappropriate" attitudes in increasing pressure on Moscow.
The following are the opinions of Yunus Soner, Vice President of Türkiye's Kemalist Vatan (Patriotic Party), on the political reasons behind the United States' move, as well as the consequences of that decision. In an interview with Sputnik, Yunus Soner commented:
"This list is a new attempt by the United States to maintain its position on the international stage, while the US is becoming increasingly isolated globally. The US is acting not only against Russia, but also against all countries in the Eurasian and Asian regions that are partnering with Russia. Washington is very concerned that the Eurasian Economic Union could replace the US's hegemonic position. However, the efforts of the US administration will not succeed…"
Just as the trial of the deputy CEO of Türkiye's state-owned Halkbank (whom the US accused of violating sanctions against Iran) did not affect Turkish-Iranian economic relations, the so-called "Kremlin list" will not have a negative impact on Russia's economic and political cooperation with its West Asian and other Eurasian partners. Furthermore, this move by the US once again shows the world that the tools of pressure the US has used since the Cold War are ineffective. The US should abandon its unilateral tools for imposing its will and should maintain its position in the modern multipolar global system," said Yunus Soner.
Commenting on the US's release of the "Kremlin list," Turkish political scientist Dr. Volkan Ozdemir, President of the Institute for Energy Policy and Markets, said: "The main aim of the United States is to sow discord among the Russian elite and use that discord to bargain with Russia. With such actions against the Russian elite, the United States is declaring, 'If you do not act against your own leadership, you will reap regrettable consequences.' However, I believe that the US efforts will fail.""We are witnessing financial capital and the economy being turned into political tools. If Russia is economically isolated, this will trigger a serious political reaction, leading to a split between Russia and the US in the economic sphere. And that will increase tensions, possibly even leading to a financial war," Ozdemir said.
