Recently, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training announced the selection.Foreign languages, including English, French, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.It is the third subject in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year.
Accordingly, Foreign Language will be the third subject in this exam, in addition to the two compulsory subjects, Mathematics and Literature.

List of subjects and exam formats
This is the first exam implementing the Ministry of Education and Training's regulation on adding a third subject to the 10th grade high school entrance exam. The selection of the third subject is decided by the Departments of Education and Training of each province and city.
Therefore, the entrance exam for 10th grade (general) in Hai Phong for the 2025-2026 school year will have 3 subjects: Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Language (English, French, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese).
Regarding the exam format, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:
Literature subject: Essay-based exam, 120 minutes allotted;
Mathematics exam: 90 minutes or 120 minutes;
Foreign Language: Multiple-choice test, 60 minutes allotted.
The combined exam is either 90 minutes or 120 minutes long.
The 2025-2026 high school entrance exam for 10th grade will be the first year it is organized under the new general education program. It will also be the first year applying the Ministry of Education and Training's new regulations for 10th grade admissions, with two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature, and a third subject determined by the Provincial Departments of Education and Training, chosen from the remaining subjects or a combined test.
According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, the deadline for provincial education and training departments to announce the third exam subject is March 31st.
