Accordingly, English will be the third subject in this exam, in addition to the two compulsory subjects, Mathematics and Literature.

This information has received considerable attention from students, teachers, and parents throughout the province.

List of subjects and exam formats

This is the first exam implementing the Ministry of Education and Training's regulation on adding a third subject to the high school entrance exam for 10th grade. The selection of the third subject is decided by the Departments of Education and Training of each province and city.

Therefore, the entrance exam for 10th grade (general) in Thai Binh for the 2025-2026 school year will have 3 subjects: Mathematics, Literature, and English.

Regarding the exam duration, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training:

Literature subject: 120 minutes;

Mathematics exam: 90 minutes or 120 minutes;

English class: 60 minutes or 90 minutes;

The combined exam is either 90 minutes or 120 minutes long.

The 2025-2026 high school entrance exam for 10th grade will be the first year it is organized under the new general education program. It will also be the first year applying the Ministry of Education and Training's new regulations for 10th grade admissions, with two compulsory subjects: Mathematics and Literature, and a third subject determined by the Provincial Departments of Education and Training, chosen from the remaining subjects or a combined test.

According to regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training, the deadline for provincial education and training departments to announce the third exam subject is March 31st.
