After drinking alcohol, a group of about 8 individuals went to the forest protection management station of Ha Nung Forestry Company and attacked two officers, resulting in one death.

At approximately 0:00 AM on October 21st, two officials from the Ha Nung Forestry Company (located in Son Lang commune, Kbang district, Gia Lai province), Nguyen Nam Thinh and Vo Van Huy, were working at the forest protection station in Dak Tngong village (Son Lang commune) when they were attacked by a group of people.

According to initial information, about eight individuals from Dak Tngong village, after drinking alcohol, attacked two company officers at the forest protection station with knives and hammers. As a result, Mr. Nguyen Nam Thinh was fatally stabbed. Mr. Vo Van Huy managed to escape, but the forest protection station was damaged.

Mr. Bui Van Tan, Director of Ha Nung Forestry Company, said that the perpetrators had previously participated in illegal logging in the company's forest area and had been warned. "Before attacking the forestry officer, they even came to ask permission to cut down a few trees for building a house, but were not allowed. When the incident occurred, company personnel arrived at the scene and simultaneously notified the police," Mr. Tan said.

Mr. Vo Van Phan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kbang district, directed the district police to coordinate with relevant parties to investigate and handle the case strictly. The provincial and district police have been at the scene since early morning to conduct the investigation.

According to a leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Gia Lai province, seven suspects have been initially identified and arrested.
