| According to Mr. Vu Tuan Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Mai town, this fishing port mainly serves the boats of fishermen from Quynh Phuong and Quynh Lap wards. "Of the 900 boats, nearly half are 90 horsepower or more vessels used for offshore fishing. Each year, the amount of fish consumed at the port reaches nearly 50,000 tons," Mr. Dung said. | Currently, the port has 27 vessels under Decree 67 that have gone out to sea, with 7 others under construction. "Currently, Hoang Mai also has a fleet of about 30 vessels fishing in the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands area. The rest mainly fish in the Gulf of Tonkin," the Vice Chairman of Hoang Mai town added.
