A journalist and his family were terrorized, threatened with snakes being released into their home.

Journalist Hai Chau, from Infonet's Da Nang bureau, said that he and his family have been constantly receiving threatening messages and threats to release snakes and other reptiles into their home.

Colonel Tran Dinh Muoi, head of the Internal Political Security Department - PA83, Da Nang City Police, said that forces are being dispatched to verify the incident.

According to journalist Hai Chau, he and his family have been constantly threatened and harassed in recent days.

Specifically, on the evening of August 25th, an unknown assailant threw a plastic bag containing lubricating oil at the door of the family's house in an alley on Le Duan Street (Tan Chinh Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang).

After the incident occurred, he called the police, local authorities, and the leadership of Infonet online newspaper… The Tan Chinh ward police sent officers to the scene to draw up a report.

On the afternoon of August 27th, Mr. Chau received another threatening message from the number 098705… threatening his family.

On the afternoon of August 28th, he received another threatening message from the number 016631… with the content threatening that "poisonous snakes and scorpions can easily crawl into your house".

On the evening of August 29th, two masked young men on a motorbike, carrying a plastic bag, were seen by residents stuffing the bag through the door of a house in the same neighborhood as journalist Hai Chau before fleeing.

Residents called the local police to investigate, and they found about 2kg of live snakes inside the plastic sack.

Journalist Hai Chau said that these actions may be related to his recent journalistic activities.
