Mourinho - Pogba: "A moment of patience can prevent nine misfortunes."

This season, Pogba has rarely been used by manager Mourinho. The main reason why "the Special One" frequently benches the former Juventus player is not purely a matter of professional ability, but rather his fighting spirit.

Despite high expectations, the £96 million midfielder has only brought disappointment and dismay to manager Mourinho and Manchester United fans. Never before have people seen Pogba play so poorly.

Being constantly overlooked by manager Mourinho has left the 1993-born midfielder feeling dissatisfied. Especially since star player Sanchez arrived at Old Trafford in the last winter transfer window, Pogba immediately publicly expressed his displeasure.

The reason is quite simple: the French midfielder is unhappy with Sanchez's record-breaking salary (£350,000 per week). Pogba's actions are nothing more than an attempt to pressure the Manchester United management into increasing his pay.

Pogba's frustration peaked in the second leg of the Champions League knockout round match between Manchester United and Sevilla. Introduced by manager Mourinho at the start of the second half, Pogba played listlessly and ineffectively in front of over 70,000 Manchester United fans. His careless pass that went out of bounds in the final minutes of the match was clear evidence of this.

In contrast to what happened at Man Utd, Pogba proved his true class while playing for the French national team. The 25-year-old midfielder's impressive performance in Les Bleus' 3-1 victory over Russia on March 27th (1 goal and 1 assist) was like a challenge Pogba sent to manager Mourinho and the Red Devils' leadership.

Under pressure from public opinion, manager Mourinho relented by including Pogba in the starting lineup for the Manchester United - Swansea match.

Speaking to the press, Pogba said: “It’s true that being benched has never happened to me, but it has made me stronger. You have to go through phases like that to grow. I have no problem with Mourinho. I’m not the one who decides the starting lineup. Ask the manager if you want to know why I’ve played so little. I respect his choices.”

Manager Mourinho's decision to start Pogba in the Man Utd - Swansea match, and Pogba's statement, "I have no problem with Mourinho," were both wise and sensible actions at this time.

The Portuguese strategist chose to "call a truce" with the team's number one star to ensure the safety of his position. Pogba, on the other hand, "made peace" with coach Mourinho in order to get more regular playing time and maintain his form for the upcoming 2018 World Cup.

Both manager Mourinho and midfielder Pogba understand that "pushing too hard will break the rope," so they have to choose the path of "a little patience goes a long way." Of course, with two strong personalities like Mourinho and Pogba, compromise is only a temporary solution.
